NylaSteel combines the performance advantages of Nylatron nylon with the strength of steel. The contact surfaces -- those surfaces that wear against other components - are made of Nylatron, which offers wear resistance, resilience and quiet operation. The core of the component is steel, which supplies critical strength to keyways and interference fits.

The NylaSteel Advantage Nylatron nylon is cast directly onto a specially treated steel surface. The resulting NylaSteel product functions as a homogeneous material that can be machined in the normal fashion. NylaSteel composites reduce the slippage and fabrication costs associated with other assembly techniques. Because the nylon is an integral part of the steel, machined blanks measuring less than 1/2 inch face width can be used for drive components such as:
